Disney and Pixar's Cars franchise, starting with Cars (2006) and Cars 2 (2011) and expanding to this summer's third film in the series, takes place in a world of anthropomorphic vehicles that acquire human-like features.
In the new film, directed by Brian Fee, the legendary Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is back in the racing game but blindsided by a new generation of high-tech racers. The old car crew reunites to get McQueen back in fighting shape.
